INSPIRATION, TRAVEL

Qatar Travel Guide

I traveled to Doha last week and it was my very first time in Qatar. I highly recommend visiting if you haven’t. It’s a wonderful experience! So I thought I should put together a little travel guide for you guys, I love reading travel guides when going to a new destination as I always feel more prepared, which makes the experience smoother.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton end everything about our stay was amazing. From the service, to our room, to the food, the pool and hotel amenities. I highly recommend staying here. On our last day, we got a one hour massage at the spa of the hotel which is amazing before a 6 hours flight.

WHAT TO DO IN DOHA?

MUSEUMS: There are many museums worth visiting, we went to the Museum of Islamic Arts and the National Museum of Qatar too which were beautiful. To be respectful to the country and culture I highly recommend when in public areas to dress conservative. When in public, it’s recommended to not show too much skin from your shoulders to knees.

THE SOUK WAQIF: I recommend visiting the souq, that’s what we did on our first night and we had a blast. It’s a vast area filled with local markets that carry spices, clothes, jewelry, and many more items. When you walk down the lively streets of Souq Waqif you’re immediately transported into another time. This is a perfect place where you can taste, smell and experience tradition through the merchant’s produce, perfumes and stunning surrounding architecture.

DESERT SAFARI: Another great activity to plan! You can do some dune bashing and get amazing adrenaline, you will have the opportunity to get a panoramic view of the desert. You can experience camel riding in the desert as well. A great experience with amazing photo opportunities. Also the best way to get a quick peek into the lives and style of local Qataris at the traditional Bedouin camp. I think that was my favorite experience from my trip to Qatar.

EXPLORE THE PEARL QATAR: The Pearl Qatar is a man-made island that became the epitome of luxury. The yachts, high-end stores and villas will give you an interesting insight into how the upper class lives.
