Sunset Ammoudi Restaurant: located into the red volcanic rock, underneath the picturesque village of Oia and besides the crystal clear waters, one of the best spots in Santorini to watch the sunset. They serve fresh fish and offer an amazing selection of fine local dishes and splendid wines. I recommend ordering the grilled octopus and grilled halloumi cheese for starters and then the seafood linguini.

FlyAway Creative Restaurant & Bar: the restaurant is located at West East Suites in Imerovigli, one of the most beautiful villages of Santorini, built at the highest point of the caldera with breathtaking view to the spectacular sunset. The restaurant is elegant and set up around the infinity pool. 

Cavo Tago: CAVO TAGOO Santorini is a brand new luxury hotel in Imerovigli with an incredible sunset view and an infinity pool. The restaurant, Ovac Mediterranean Fusion restaurant, has incredible sushi and cocktails.

Alali Restaurant: is located in Akrotiri and is one of the best Santorini restaurants with Caldera’s views, perfect for a romantic dinner, the tables are set up around the pool and the view is absolutely amazing. The restaurant offers a unique gastronomic experience.

Seaside: you can enjoy delicious homemade dishes of Greek traditional cuisine in front of the beach. They have an incredible wine list and a sommelier who will recommend you which wine you should order depending on what you want to eat. I always have the tzatziki there ( they make it at your table) and the seafood pasta.

Most of Santorini’s beaches are composed of dark volcanic sand that gets quite hot in the middle of the day sun so I would say that beach sandals or water shoes are recommended for walking on the sand.

The busiest, most family-friendly of the beach towns is Kamari. There are a number of affordable, all-ages beach clubs along the main path offering beach chairs and umbrellas, lots of casual places to eat, drink, and shop. 

Perissa and Perivolos Beaches are one very long beach, with Perissa at the north end turning into Perivolos to the south. I like that Perivolos has more of a party vibe at the beach clubs here. You will find high end beach clubs and lots of great restaurants. 

I recommend going to the Red Beach, sand and rocks here are red and the backdrop is stunning. The unique scenery is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to get some good shoes to hike your way to the beach.

Rent a boat. You can enjoy the sea, walk the volcano, swim in the hot springs and watch the sunset… all that in one day! Boats usually depart from Vlychada Marina at the south of the island, or from Ammoudi Bay below Oia.

Book a winery tour. Santorini wine is great ( I fell in love with white wine there) the wineries are beautiful and the people super friendly. A tour is the best way of exploring more than one winery.

Rent a jet ski. It is a fun and unique way of seeing the caldera. The water in Santorini is so clear and never cold. 

Visit the Ancient Akrotiri. You can explore the remains of the ancient Minoan Bronze-Age village. The site is the most interesting historical site on Santorini and very well preserved. A great activity when it is very hot during the day and you want some shade!

Watch the sunset. My favorite spot to watch the sunset is Ammoudi Bay. It is also one of the best places for dinner if you like fresh fish.

Visit Ancient Thera. You will discover Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine ruins at this ancient island capital on the top of Messa Vouno mountain. You can hike the steep trail up from Kamari or Perissa.

Swim in the Hot Springs. The only way to get to the hot springs is by doing a boat tour. You will jump from the boat into the cold water of the caldera, then swim towards the warm water of the volcanic hot springs. 

Akrotiri Lighthouse. Discover an incredible view looking north into the caldera which is very different than the views from looking down from Fira or Oia.
